Project implemented under the Regional Operational Program of the Silesian Voivodeship for 2014-2020 Priority Axis I "Modern Economy" Measure 1.1 "Research infrastructure of key importance for the region"

Funding agreement no: UDA-RPSL.01.01.00-24-05AH/17-00-00 was concluded on 15.03.2018.
The project involves the creation of the Silesia LabMed Research and Implementation Centre - a network of modern specialized laboratories, which will be a combination of the existing and newly created infrastructure of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice.
The project includes the upgrading and equipping of existing laboratory facilities located in SUM buildings at 19 Jordana Street in Zabrze, as well as the building and equipping of a new facility in Katowice-Ligota adjacent on the south-east side to the C1 building located in Katowice at 18 Medyków Street.
The investment tasks planned for implementation include:
- in Zabrze - modernisation works in the facilities at 19 Jordana Street for the needs of:
- Laboratory of Dental Development.
- Laboratory of Nanomicroscopy.
- Integrated Data Transfer Centre.
- Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
- Laboratory of Epidemiology.
- In Katowice - building of a new facility on the campus in Katowice-Ligota at 18 Medyków Street, where the following laboratories will be seated:
- Genetic Analysis Laboratory with cytogenetic laboratory and nucleic acid analysis laboratory.
- Protein Analysis Laboratory.
- Cell and tissue bank.
- Laboratory of Cell and Tissue Culture, Engineering and Cell Therapy.
The project plans to equip the mentioned laboratories with research equipment.
The project also includes the purchase of equipment to establish the following laboratories:
- Immunological Laboratory - Zabrze, 19 Jordana Street.
- Microbiology Laboratory - Zabrze, 19 Jordana Street.
- Laboratory of Animal Experimental Models - Katowice, 4 Medyków Street.
