The "Industrial PhD Programme" of Ministry of Education and Science creates conditions for the development of cooperation between higher education and system science institutions with the socio-economic environment. Doctoral students will be educated jointly by doctoral school with students’ employers. The result of the cooperation is the implementation of the results of the scientific activity of doctoral students in these entities.
The Medical University of Silesia in Katowice has participated in the 'Industrial PhD Programme' since its inception in 2017. In the six editions implemented so far, 49 doctoral students have taken part, of whom 3 have defended their doctorates with distinction. In total, the Ministry of Education and Science (formerly the Ministry of Science and Higher Education) allocated funds in the amount of PLN 12 224 734.16 for the Industrial PhDs at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice.
