Success! We are pleased to announce that the project of the researchers of the Medical University of Silesia has qualified for the 1st edition of the "Warsaw Health Innovation Hub mentoring platform program" in Katowice, named "System for culturing and multiplying cells taken from the patient - autologous fibroblasts - on a membrane carrier, intended for tissue regeneration procedures in the oral and craniofacial areas".
The project aims to precisely control hard and soft tissue regeneration after periodontal and dental surgery, with optimization of the favorable clinical outcome of surgical therapeutic procedures on the alveolar process. This innovative solution by our researchers will lead to a significant improvement in the process of tissue regeneration in the area of oral structures, through the implementation of a unique system supporting regenerative medicine procedures. It can be used directly in the treatment room! This is a unique, universal therapeutic solution for clinicians performing autogenous grafting and tissue augmentation procedures, regardless of the level of medical care reference. The combination of the collagen carrier (membrane) and the cells multiplied on it provides an optimal hybrid component to support the tissue regeneration process. The innovative cell culture tray replaces costly and complex biotechnology systems used in laboratories. Ultimately, the new treatment procedure, should be incorporated into the standard panel of regenerative procedures in alveolar surgery as a relevant and evidence-based therapeutic step.
We are proud to present the makeup of the research team: Dr. Arkadiusz Dziedzic - project manager, Dr. Robert Kubina, Dr. Robert Wojtyczka, Prof. Marta Tanasiewicz, Prof. Ewa Talik (University of Silesia), Dr. Magdalena Skonieczna (Silesian University of Technology).
The third stage of evaluation is ahead, as a result of which appropriate mentors will be selected for the winning projects of the academic teams.
