I would like to kindly inform you about the ongoing call for applications for the next edition of the competition for the Polish-German Science Prize ,,NICOLAUS COPERNICUS", which aims to recognize the most active participants in Polish-German scientific cooperation, who can demonstrate outstanding research achievements resulting from this cooperation.
The Polish-German Scientific Prize "Nicolaus Copernicus" (Copernicus Prize) is awarded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) for outstanding scientific achievements that are the fruit of German-Polish cooperation in any field of science, including the humanities and social sciences.
Candidates may be scholars and scholars who have at least a doctoral degree, are employed at a state university and/or research unit in Germany or at an entity belonging to the system of higher education and science in Poland. Current participation in a research project is also a prerequisite for participation.
Nominations should include :
- Confirmation of a clearly defined joint scientific achievement of two candidates.
- A list of up to 10 publications resulting from the joint research.
- One letter of recommendation for the nominated couple; two such letters are required for self-nominations.
- CVs of the nominees in tabular form (max. 2 pages each).

The deadline for nominations is July 12, 2023, and nominations should be submitted electronically via the FNP application portal: https://wnioski.fnp.org.pl.
The names of the male and female winners will be announced by June 24, 2024, and the award ceremony will be held in Germany in October 2024.
