We would like to kindly inform you that the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has announced a call for applications for the ,,Polish Returns NAWA" Program.
The purpose of the Program is to enable outstanding Polish scientists to return to the country and take up employment in Polish universities, scientific or research institutes.
The scope of financing of the project in question includes the salary of the returning scientist, the inviting person and the project group, adaptation and organization of the workplace, as well as the cost of resettlement of the returning scientist. An element of the Program, moreover, is the research component funded by the National Center for Research and Development (NCBiR).
Depending on the stage of the scientist's career - the Program provides 2 paths, where it should be noted that there are no restrictions on the scientific discipline represented:
- Young Scientist (Junior scientist path)
- Experienced scientist (Experienced scientist path).
The duration of the project for the Young scientist path is from 24 to 36 months with NAWA funding up to PLN 1,143,200, while for the Experienced scientist path from 36 to 48 months with NAWA funding up to PLN 2,397,600. It should also be noted that in the case of basic research, scientists can apply for a start-up grant funded by the National Science Center of up to PLN 200,000. Researchers can start their project between April 1, 2024 and October 30, 2024.
The application, written in English, is submitted by the Returning Scientist on behalf of himself and the employing Institution. The call for applications will be conducted by NAWA only in electronic form in the Agency's ICT System until July 31, 2023 at 3:00 pm.
