Please be advised that the University has received a call for applications for the Postdoctoral Fellowship Training Scheme for Incoming Postdocs to Malta (PF2MT),which supports travel and accommodation costs for experienced researchers who wish to apply with a Maltese host entity (Beneficiary) under the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA PF) with a deadline of September 13, 2023.

The support will be in the form of a lump sum grant and will be used for the participation of researchers in a one-day MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship, to be held on July 12, 2023 in Malta. 

Researchers of any nationality and age who meet the eligibility and mobility conditions may apply under the above Program.

Eligibility conditions:

  • The researcher must hold a doctoral degree as of the application deadline for the MSCA PF competition (September 13, 2023) and should have no more than 8 years of full-time research experience since obtaining the doctoral degree.
  • Candidates who have successfully defended their dissertation but have not yet formally received their doctoral degree will also be considered postdoctoral researchers and will be considered eligible to apply.
  • By the application deadline (Sept. 13, 2023), researchers with a postdoctoral degree must have a maximum of eight years of full-time equivalent research experience counted from the date of their doctoral degree. Years of experience outside of research and career breaks (e.g., due to parental leave) will not count towards the amount of research experience.
  • Only applicants with an already identified mentor from a Maltese host entity (with whom they have established contact and agreed to collaborate under the MSCA PF 2023 competition) will be considered eligible.

Mobility requirements:

  • Applicants may not apply for a fellowship in a country where they have lived or conducted their main activity for >12 months in the 3 years preceding the application deadline (13/09/2023).
