Prof. Gregory Lip is an outstanding, world-renowned scientist, an expert in the areas of atrial fibrillation, trambogensis, anticoagulant treatment, stroke prevention, hypertension. He is the creator of numerous research projects, the results of which have contributed significantly to changing international and national practice recommendations. He is a titan of work as a practicing physician, academician, supervisor of doctoral students and fellows.
His alma mater, the University of Birmingham, is the world's leading research center for atrial fibrillation.
He enjoys great authority in the global scientific and specialized community - especially in cardiology. This is reflected, among other things, in 4 titles of Doctor Honoris Causa, numerous awards and honorary memberships of national scientific societies. Among others, he is a member of the Polish Society of Cardiology.
Prof. Zbigniew Kalarus, who delivered the laudation in honor of Prof. Linden, mentioned the long-standing cooperation with the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases in Zabrze, a SUM hospital, in the organization of training courses and joint publications.
SUM's JM Rector, Prof. Tomasz Szczepanski, emphasized how important it is to develop mutual scientific projects, and for young doctors to be in contact with such an outstanding doctor, enabling practical training.
It is worth mentioning that Professor Linden's achievements include more than 2900 publications cited in the Medline database, h-index, i10-index 1670, more than 290 thousand citations according to Google Scholar.
