Already on 29-30.05.2023 will be held the 5th edition of the competition of physiological knowledge WIELKA SYNAPSA, which is held annually at various medical universities in Poland. This year it is the Silesian Medical University in Katowice that is hosting the competition organized by the Department of Physiology of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice, which is headed by Prof. Halina Jędrzejowska-Szypułka, MD. Honorary patronage of the event was assumed by the JM Rector of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice, Prof. Dr. habil. n. med. Tomasz Szczepanski, and the Polish Physiological Society.
GREAT SYNAPSA is aimed at medical students of Polish medical universities. Human physiology is one of the foundations on which students build their medical knowledge. The physiological knowledge competition allows participants to expand their knowledge of the basics of medicine and gives them the opportunity to put it into practice at the beginning of their adventure with this undoubtedly difficult matter. In the previous edition of the physiological competition, which took place at the Warsaw University of
Medical University, SUM students took second place, both individually and as a team. This time the two-day competition will be held in the building of the Center for Medical Didactics and Simulation in Katowice, and includes a knowledge test in physiology as well as team competitions based on clinical aspects of physiology. Applications from 15 medical universities from across the country have been accepted for the competition.
