Third edition of the Norwegian Funds

In July 2022, the Prof. Leszek Giec Upper Silesian Medical Center of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice received PLN 2,982,209.00 in funding under the 3rd edition of the Norwegian Funds for the project "Improving the health of patients with heart failure through pilot implementation of telemedicine services at GCM. The culmination of the project is the visit of the Norwegian Partner with a group of experts taking place on 14-16.11.2023.

Participants include: Loreta Skrebelyte-Strøm - Akershus University Hospital and University of Oslo, Rosalyn Austin - University of Stavanger , Dede Hoven Akuffo - Oslo University Hospital, Lena Nielsen Geving - representative of Aphenet, our Norwegian Partner. The guests visited the Upper Silesian Medical Center of Prof. L. Giec - they got acquainted with the functioning of the Center, in particular with the 1st Chair and Department of Cardiology SUM / 1st Department of Cardiology and the Department of Electrocardiology and Heart Failure SUM / Department of Electrocardiology.

The substantive and organizational aspects of the visit were supervised by Prof. Rafal Mlynarski, Prof. Katarzyna Mizia-Stec, Prof. Krzysztof Golba and the medical director Prof. Krystian Wita. The culmination of the visit was a meeting with the Rector, Prof. Tomasz Szczepanski, organized by the Vice-Chancellor for Science and International Cooperation of SUM, Prof. Katarzyna Mizia-Stec, as well as a presentation of Our University, a visit to the WNMK Simulation Center and a lecture by Prof. Piotr Romaniuk on the organization of the health care system in Poland.
