This concert is an absolutely unique event that strongly changes the thinking about charity concerts and how different musical worlds can come together and do a piece of GOOD in the process. Under the baton of ADAM SZTABA, the NATIONAL SYMPHONY ORKIESTRA OF POLISH RADIO will play together with the ONCOLOGY CHILDREN'S ORKIESTRA, made up of the foundation's charges who battle cancer on a daily basis.
On this day, they have the opportunity to forget the hardships of treatment, the months or years between hospital and home. On the day of the event, 7 June 2023 at the NOSPR in Katowice, they are fully-fledged artists who play percussion instruments and experience the musical adventure of a lifetime with the same commitment, trepidation that mixes with joy.
Little patients are prepared for this by PIOTR SUTT, conductor, promoter of the art of percussion, professor and head of the Percussion Department of the Academy of Music in Łódź. Since 2006, together with the ISKIERKA Foundation, he has been breaking all stereotypes concerning thinking about the creative possibilities of children undergoing oncological treatment. This is one of the most original and surprising examples of music therapy, combined with the excellent quality and scale of the event. Because the ISKIERKA Foundation loves seemingly completely crazy ideas that send a strong message to sick children that life is full of surprises - including positive ones.
On one stage they will meet stars in their repertoire, whose arrangements are being prepared for this special occasion by Adam Sztaba. The invitation to co-create this concert was accepted by MAŁGORZATA OSTROWSKA, RALPH KAMINSKI, GRZEGORZ TURNAU and KUBA JURZYK.
There will certainly be plenty of musical surprises for both music lovers and those attending such a concert, not only a symphonic one, for the first time. We are preparing a SYMFONY OF JOY for you!
One of the highlights will be the INFORMS CHOIR. These are the foundation's donors from the companies 3Soft SA and Sii Polska, who rather use computer keyboards on a daily basis. They also decided to overcome stage fright and support the foundation's charges "singing" during the performance. They are being prepared for this challenge by the 'miracle-working' choirmaster, conductor and multi-instrumentalist BENEDYKT ODYA, a professor at UKW in Bydgoszcz.
It will also be a celebration for the foundation itself, its current and former charges, donors and friends. A moment to present its activities and appreciate those thanks to whom it can help, not only on holidays.
The concert will be hosted by Jarosław Boberek and Mirosław Neinert.
The income from the concert is earmarked for children with cancer and their families - the charges of the ISKIERKA Foundation.
NOSPR is a PARTNER of the event.
