The tenth anniversary celebrations of the University of the Third Age of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences took place on 23 May 2023. Among the invited guests were: Vice-Chancellor for Development and Technology Transfer Professor Edward Wylęgała, MD, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Robert Wojtyczka, PhD, Vice-Deans of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences: Agata Kabała-Dzik, MD, PhD, Pharm. Ewa Chodurek, as well as Katarzyna Pawłowska-Góral, MD, PhD, long-serving Head of the Pharmaceutical Faculty, Prof. Markowski Jarosław, MD, PhD - Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Faculty Programme Council, Piotr Kaczmarczyk, MD, PhD - Silesian Pharmacy Chamber, Andrzej Szczerba, MD - Sosnowiec Police Station, and the Heads of Departments of the Pharmaceutical Faculty.
After a brief summary by the Head, Dr Agnieszka Synowiec-Wojtarowicz, of the ten years of UTW's activities and the presentation of thanks to the Senior Citizens' Self-Government, a lecture was held, led by MA Wojciech Rogóż from the Chair and Department of Physical Pharmacy, entitled. "Quinine - using a drug from the past in the future". Participants also had stands where they could check their blood glucose, blood pressure or assess the state of their skin, as well as learn about the benefits of cold-pressed oils and various types of honey. The exhibitors included: Apteka Dbam o Zdrowie, Apteka Blisko Ciebie, Ms Daria Gęborska-Kowal - Leśna Olejarnia, Mr Krzysztof Poppe - Śląskie Miody and Prof. Paweł Olczyk with students from the Polish Pharmaceutical University.
