SUM's success in the Webometrics ranking

In the latest edition of the Web of Universities (Webometrics) ranking, the Medical University of Silesia was ranked 131st out of 2,730 evaluated institutions in the group of Central and Eastern European countries! Thus, among all 11,989 evaluated institutions worldwide, SUM was ranked in 1973 position. Among Silesian universities, SUM was ranked fourth.

Webometric is the largest global ranking that evaluates the activities of universities and scientists not only on the basis of publications in professional journals, but also on the basis of promotion in other sources such as the Internet. The compilation of universities from all over the world is based on an overall assessment of the activities of scientific and research institutions. The ranking therefore assesses not only formal activities, such as publishing in e-journals or repositories, but also informal scientific communication.

The Medical University of Silesia in Katowice is consistently striving to improve both the quality of education and research, which translates, among other things, into an increasing reputation and recognition in the international arena.
