SUM opens up to new majors

Romanian Ambassador to the Republic of Poland Cosmin Onisii was a guest of SUM's JM Rector, Prof. Tomasz Szczepański, MD. The meeting was the first step toward establishing scientific and didactic cooperation and strengthening Polish-Romanian relations. 

Representatives of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice and the Romanian Embassy in Poland discussed, among other things, the exchange of teaching staff and students and the conduct of joint scientific research and research projects. The meeting, held at the SUM Rector's Office, also allowed them to share their professional experiences and insights on challenges currently affecting the quality of education and the development of science.

The authorities of the University were also represented by Prof. Jerzy Stojko, MD, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs of SUM, Prof. Edward Wylęgała, MD, Vice Chancellor for Development and Technology Transfer of SUM, and Ireneusz Ryszkiel, MD, Chancellor of SUM. In turn, the Romanian Ambassador was accompanied by Stefan Porojan of the Foreign Investment and Trade Agency and Alin Nitu, Advisor to the Minister in the Foreign Policy Section.

During his visit to the Silesian Voivodeship, Cosmin Onisii also met with Silesian Governor Jaroslaw Wieczorek, Silesian Voivodeship Marshal Jakub Chełstowski and Katowice Mayor Marcin Krupa. He also visited the Regional Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Katowice.
