The Medical University of Silesia in Katowice has launched another project as part of the "Metropolitan Science Support Fund" programme.

The aim of the project is to organise a series of educational travel classes to high schools, aimed at students from regions which, due to their location, could not previously participate in classes organised in Katowice. As part of the 'SUM on the road' project, students and young graduates of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice will visit schools to conduct classes on medical topics and promote studying at SUM.

During the classes, various topics will be discussed: internal medicine, ophthalmology, obstetrics, gynaecology, rehabilitation, forensic medicine, surgery, anaesthesiology, cardiology, cardiac surgery and dentistry. In addition, students will have the opportunity to participate in workshops using VR and AR technology, enabling them to learn about the modern learning methods used at the University.

The classes will be led by students involved in scientific and teaching activities, affiliated with various scientific societies associated with SUM.

The main objective of the project is to raise awareness of the educational opportunities at the Medical University of Silesia and to interest young people in studying medicine, as well as to present the wealth of educational forms, materials and teaching equipment available at the University. The project also aims to reach students from areas far from Katowice, offering them direct contact with representatives of the academic world and modern educational technologies.
