On January 28, as part of the GOCC finale at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzow, a team of employees from the Pulmonology Department of the Independent Public Clinical Hospital No. 1 named after prof. Stanislaw Szyszko SUM (Department and Clinic of Pulmonary and Tuberculosis Diseases of the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Zabrze of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice) supported by students from the STN will consult and examine people especially after COVID-19, patients with dyspnea, suspected asthma, COPD and those who are or have been exposed to smoke including cigarette smoke.
There will also be an opportunity to screen lung function in previously asymptomatic people.
A screening spirometry test will be performed on all.
The spirometric examination will be followed by a medical consultation, as a result of which the examinee will receive information on the ventilation capacity of the lungs and possible further diagnostic and therapeutic recommendations (we will not be able to issue prescriptions or referrals). In justified cases, we will be able to immediately expand the diagnostics by bodyplethysmography, measurement of lung diffusing capacity and transthoracic ultrasound.
We plan to examine between 200 and 300 people during the campaign ! You are welcome !
