The 17th International Congress of Psychiatry Medforum was held in Wisła, with the theme 'Psychiatry on the Path of Change'. During the event, in addition to a number of lectures and workshops, there was a Session of Student Scientific Circles, during which male and female students of medical universities from all over Poland had the opportunity to present their current research, results and conclusions of their scientific work. The session was chaired by Prof. Krzysztof Krysta, MD, PhD, and Anna Szczegielniak, MD, PhD. It was of a competitive nature. SUM students achieved a number of successes during the congress.
The first place was won by Michał Wadoń, who presented his thesis entitled "The occurrence of clinical symptoms of depression in patients suffering from inflammatory bowel disease resulting from the presence of chronic inflammation in the periphery".
Second place was taken by Błażej Pilarski and Magdalena Stencel presenting the paper , "Do weather conditions affect the number of interventions in a psychiatric emergency room?"
Third place was taken by Maria Nowak-Ciolek presenting a case report , "Alphabet of genetic complexities. A case report of a 13-year-old boy with ASD and BBS".
Other students of our university also participated in the session: Zuzanna Mielczarek, Karolina Kamińska, Michał Ciołek, Ewelina Duda, Ewa Maraszewska, Jakub Fick and Rafał Bieś.
