We are pleased to announce that Michał Azierski and Marcin Rojek, fourth-year medical students, have won the title of Inventor of the Year for their innovative project 'Radiological marker for spatial analysis of medical instrument positioning'.

- The project that brought us this honourable title is a radiopaque marker for spatial analysis of the arrangement of medical instruments. I would like to emphasise that our work is carried out exclusively by us, which further emphasises our commitment and skills in the field of medical science,' says Michał Azierski and adds: - 'I would also like to emphasise that our invention is not only of great importance to medical science and practice, but also brings significant benefits to patients. It reduces the risk of complications related to the incorrect positioning of medical instruments and, in the future, will allow us to automate these procedures by using advanced artificial intelligence algorithms. I hope that our success will inspire other students and contribute to the further development of innovation at our University.

The awarding of the title took place during the XXII BioMedTech Silesia Conference on 26 April 2024.
