EuroHealthNet (EHN) is a non-profit partnership of institutes and public agencies working for a healthier Europe. The mission is to help build healthier communities and eliminate health inequalities between and within European countries.

EuroHealthNet's vision is a society in which all citizens enjoy the basic right to the highest attainable level of health, regardless of race, religion, gender or economic or social situation.

Achieving this is the responsibility not only of health systems, but of all government sectors and actors that contribute to the conditions for good health in the entire population. EuroHealthNet therefore stimulates and supports the implementation of integrated approaches addressing the social, environmental, economic and commercial determinants of health. It works at all levels and across the political spectrum in the areas of health, social affairs and employment to ensure consistent, comprehensive and effective action to maintain and improve health for all.

This partnership model amplifies the voice and makes a comprehensive approach to health promotion and disease prevention in the EU. Importantly, working closely with the European Commission and the World Health Organization, it stimulates action at all levels of government.

It is worth mentioning that until now the only member representing Poland was the National Institute of Public Health - State Institute of Hygiene in Warsaw. This state of affairs changed at the beginning of June, when at the meeting of the EHN Governing Board, our application for membership was unanimously approved, the long efforts were successfully completed, and we became one of the 16 scientific institutions that are in the ranks of EHN.

- As a member of EuroHealthNet, we become part of a community that is not only active, but has a real impact in public health at the European level (EHN is a member of 23 health partnerships and alliances in Europe). What's more, as a member of EHN, we can initiate and actively participate in projects with an international scope (EHN helps its members jointly process applications for EU funds, such as HorizonEurope and the EU4Health program, as well as other lesser-known tools, such as the Technical Support Instrument)," says Katarzyna Brukało, MD, PhD, from the Department of Public Health Policy at the Faculty of Public Health at the Medical University of Silesia.

EHN also promotes its members and their research at pan-European conferences and events, and provides an excellent platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among member states. Therefore, this collaboration is mutually fruitful - it is an excellent space to promote important SUM initiatives, relevant research results and create evidence-based public health on the one hand and socially responsible science on the other.
