Silesian Medical University and Silesian University of Technology are strengthening their cooperation. Students and lecturers from our University visited the Department of Biomedical Engineering, where they met with representatives of Silesian University of Technology. As part of the agreement, several project groups will be established, whose members will jointly develop new inventions. ŚUM students who want to be part of the team and have an idea for their own invention can still join us!
Important:
Students interested in participating in the project can contact the representative of the SUM Student Government: Olivier Połeć tel. 608 - 449 - 663 / e-mail: s86111@365.sum.edu.pl
- Our activities are aimed at pursuing the development of new technologies, inventions in the field of medical and health sciences. It is worth joining us because the cooperation between our University and the Silesian University of Technology provides a unique opportunity to develop new technologies and inventions.Together we form interdisciplinary engineering and medical teams, which our students can join. When such a team succeeds in developing a given invention, it opens the way not only to speeches at congresses or a chance for publications in high-scoring journals, but also the possibility of reaping financial benefits. If such an invention goes into production, be sure to patent the product beforehand. Meetings and events organized as part of ŚUM's cooperation with PŚ will give students the necessary tools useful in designing, conducting research, cooperating with industry and potential investors, as well as the necessary know-how on how to patent their first invention,” says Olivier Połeć, a member of the SUM Student Government and a representative of the project on behalf of the University.
As part of the cooperation established by the Silesian Medical University and the Silesian University of Technology, it is also planned to create special courses for students, which will be implemented at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering.
Participation in the course will allow ŚUM students to acquire new competencies and adapt to the changing labor market, especially in the context of the implementation of new technologies, progressive robotization and artificial intelligence. NThe classes will be dedicated not only to medical students, but also to physiotherapy and pharmacy students, among others.
Webinars will also be organized for students of both universities, where project participants will learn, among other things, how to obtain a grant for the research they are conducting, or how to patent their invention.
Another meeting on the newly established project is scheduled for the second half of November. This time it will be the students and lecturers of the SUM who will visit to learn about the potential of our University.
