The SUM Student Scientific Circle of Forensic Medicine and the Medical Law Scientific Circle of the University of Silesia invite you to the next in a series of six seminars on medical law issues. Their theme for the 2023/2024 academic year is: "Methodology of expert witness work and evaluation of their opinions".

The second meeting will take place on 27 February 2024 (Tuesday) at 18:30 at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia in Katowice - 11b Bankowa Street, assembly hall no. 2.

The seminar "FORMAL AND MATERIAL ASSESSMENT OF EXPERIMENTAL OPINION" will be conducted by Agnieszka Nowak, M.D. - a doctor, M.Sc. in law, associated with the Chair and Department of Forensic Medicine and Forensic Toxicology of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice, forensic medicine specialist, graduate of postgraduate studies in Medical Law, Bioethics and Sociology of Medicine at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, lecturer of postgraduate studies "Law in Health Care". During the seminar, the topic of the possibility of assessing the opinion of the MEDICAL LAW SEMINAR will be discussed!

In a trial for so-called medical malpractice, a flawed opinion can and often does determine the content of the verdict. The scrutiny of expert evidence should therefore be characterised by particular thoroughness.
