Recruitment for the 19th edition of the "Popularizer of Science" competition

The Science in Poland service published by the Polish Press Agency Foundation has announced the call for applications for the 19th edition of the "Science Populariser" competition, which is open to individuals, institutions and teams that popularise science. Projects and undertakings lasting at least two years will be considered.

The aim of the competition is to honour individuals, teams and institutional entities that popularise science among Poles, help others to get to know and better understand phenomena occurring around people, present the latest results of scientific research, share their knowledge and passion for science, regardless of the age, level of education and professional career of the recipients.

The competition is held in five categories:

  1. Scientist - individuals popularising science - from doctoral level upwards - can apply for this award.
  2. Animator - this prize may be claimed by individuals popularising science who do not hold degrees or titles (e.g. students and doctoral students, university administrative staff).
  3. Team - this category is open to teams of persons popularising science (created, for example, by scientists, popularisation animators, scientific circles, persons working on joint projects popularisation projects, science animators in institutions such as museums). 
  4. Institution - this category is open to institutions - scientific (e.g. institutes, university units), non-scientific (e.g. NGOs, science centres), companies.
  5. Media - this category is open to journalists, media editorial teams, bloggers or website development teams, among others.

Applications can be submitted until 17 September 2023 in the form of an electronic form, available on the website of the Science in Poland service (in the content of the competition announcement and the in the application form) https://naukawpolsce.pl/form/popularyzator-nauki-2023.
