Pursuant to Article 251(3) of 20 July 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science, the Minister of Science, Dariusz Wieczorek, appointed Prof. Aleksandra Kawczyk-Krupka as a member of the Polish Accreditation Commission for the term from 01.01.2024-31.12.2027.

Prof. Aleksandra Kawczyk-Krupka, MD, PhD, is a physician, specialist in internal diseases, vascular diseases, diabetology and balneology and physical medicine, Deputy Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Angiology and Physical Medicine at the Bytom Faculty of Medical Sciences in Zabrze. She heads the angiology and diabetology department and the Laser Diagnostics and Therapy Centre at the Specialist Hospital No. 2 in Bytom. From 1987 to 1993, she studied medicine at the Medical Faculty of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Zabrze; she graduated with honours and received her medical degree in 1993. she was awarded the title of professor of medical sciences by the decision of the President of the Republic of Poland. 

Author of 310 publications, 13-h-index (Scopus citations), 16-h-index (WoS citations), with a total IF of 237.754, a total SNIP of 69.004 , a total MEiN score of 4.835, promoter of 6 doctoral dissertations, 12 undergraduate theses. From 2020r Chairperson of the Sub-team for Quality of Education in the Medical Faculty of the Silesian Medical University.  Since 2024 a member of the University Committee for Quality of Education in the Medical Faculty. Winner of awards and distinctions, including: Award of the Minister of Health (2004) and 11 awards of the Rector of the SMA/SUM (four for achievements in teaching and seven for scientific activity) and the Golden Cross of Merit for merits in public health activities (2021).In 2014 she was elected Secretary General of the European Platform for Photodynamic Medicine (EPPM) which is one of the world's most prominent scientific organisations dealing with photodynamic medicine. Past treasurer of the Polish Angiological Society and member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Division V of Medical Sciences. Scientific collaborations: Newnham College, Univ. of Cambridge (UK), Division of Urogynecology Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston (USA), Dep. of Molecular Biology, Univ. of Salzburg (Austria), School of Chinese Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese Univ. of Hong Kong, Prince of Wales Hospital (China), Cat. of Medical Informatics and Apparatus, Polit. Śl. in Gliwice, Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology in Warsaw, University of Rzeszów. Prof. A. Kawczyk-Krupka has improved and continues to improve her professional skills at numerous trainings, courses and internships in foreign centres, including the University of Toronto in Canada (as the winner of the main prize for scientific activity in the Young Scientist Competition in 1999), at the Laserklinik laser medicine centre; Klinikum Neukölln in Berlin, the Institute of Oncology in Aviano, the Department of Molecular Biology at the University of Salzburg as part of the Erasmus international staff exchange programme as a "Visiting Researcher" and at the University of China in Hong-Kong, where she was invited in 2017. as an "Inviting Researcher and Professor" to deliver a series of lectures. K.-K.'s research topics focus on clinical and basic research in the field of photodynamic diagnostics and therapy. In addition, it includes modern possibilities for clinical applications of physical medicine methods, issues of cardiovascular diseases, including chronic wounds, thromboembolic disease, microcirculation and lymphedema and diabetology.
