From June 21 to July 7, classes were held for high school students from the Upper Silesian Zagłębie Metropolitan Area ( and not only!), implemented as part of the project titled "Vacation University "It's cool in SUM", subsidized under the "Metropolitan Fund for Support of Science" program.
As part of the classes, two groups of 30 people in the week-long program learned the secrets of biochemical knowledge, including methods for isolating DNA, performed dialysis and learned about chromatographic analytical techniques.
The classes were attended by students from Tarnowskie Góry, Rybnik, Bierun, Sosnowiec, Częstochowa and Chorzów, among others.

The initiators and organizers of the "Holiday University "it's cool in SUM!" were Mr. prof. prof. dr. n. med. and n. o zdr. Tomasz Francuz together with the Project Manager, Ms. Agnieszka Kosowska, Ph.D., from the Department of Biochemistry of the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Katowice SUM.
The project "Summer University at SUM is cool" was subsidized by the Upper Silesia-Zagłębi Metropolis as part of the Program "Metropolitan Fund for Support of Science "in 2022-2024.
