Under the auspices of the Silesian Marshal's Office, the Local Government Forum "Health for Poland" was held today at the Silesian Stadium.  The event brought together several hundred guests, primarily representatives of the medical industry, but also local government officials, particularly interested in the financial future of the hospitals for which they are the founding body.

I would very much like the result of our discussions to be a roadmap that will set the most important goals for health care. There is no doubt that the most important element of the system, should be the patient. Money, effective financing is supposed to serve the patient," said Anna Jedynak, Deputy Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship, responsible for health care in the Voivodeship Board.

Guests and panelists, including three pro-rectors of the Silesian Medical University: Prof. Edward Wylęgała, Prof. Jerzy Stojko and Prof. Oskar Kowalski participated in a discussion of issues related to the present and future of health care in Poland. They spoke about health care personnel, the quality of education and the emergency medical service system.
