The Department of Public Health at the Bytom SUM is expanding its offer of second-level studies. The new major is to be launched from October 2023. Recruitment is underway.
- The direction "Health Coach" is a response to society's needs for a holistic approach to human health. It is a person who suggests how to live a better, longer and healthier life," says Dr. Agnieszka Białek-Dratwa of the Department of Public Health at Bytom SUM and adds: - Health coaches do not prescribe medications or make diagnoses. Instead, they offer a comprehensive approach to healthy living, taking into account proper nutrition, training, coaching, sleep and an approach to daily life based on mindfulness, wellbeing, work life balance and anti-aging medicine. With such a multidirectional approach, the Health Coach offers broad career prospects, not only in the private service market, but also in public sector units.
Among the subjects implemented as part of the "Health Coach" course will be:
- Planning sports training of adults, children and adolescents
- Periodization of nutrition in physical activity
- Contemporary trends in nutrition
- Dietary fusion cuisine
- Social media and photography in health education
- Life / health coaching
- Positive psychology and wellness
- Physiology of a healthy lifestyle
- Anti-aging medicine.
Internships, carried out during the course of study, the student will be able to take place in educational institutions, including kindergarten, schools, institutional facilities, as well as in fitness clubs, SPAs, wellness centers, spas, sports clubs, and non-profit organizations.
The study is directed to all people who are interested in a healthy approach to lifestyle, wellness, work life-balance, healthy eating, mindfulness. Studying to become a health coach is not only about evidence-based knowledge, but also about modern approaches to social media, which are often used to promote healthy lifestyles.
The educational offer is aimed at people who have completed at least a bachelor's degree and have a desire to develop their knowledge of healthy lifestyles.
