"Academy of the Future" has been helping Children since 2003. It is a safe, creative space where the Child meets another human being, an adult who wants to devote his or her time and attention to him or her, to be a wise companion for him or her. The kids' dream was to meet the Rector of our University, Professor Tomasz Szczepański. It was organised by volunteers from the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Katowice, Basia Rogulska and Michał Górecki. The young people, pupils from primary schools, were very interested in what the Rector was like as a student, whether he liked maths and what it was like to be the Rector. - For our pupils, such meetings are a great inspiration. They show how much can be achieved in life," said Basia and Michael.
The Academy is part of the 'Spring Association', which has been successfully organising the 'Noble Parcel' campaign for years.
They listened with curiosity about his work as Head of the Department of Paediatrics, Haematology and Paediatric Oncology at the SUM Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Zabrze. Anyone who wanted could sit in the Rector's chair. - Thank you very much for the meeting and I wish you fulfilment of your dreams," said Prof Szczepański.
