We are delighted to announce that Kamila Czepczor-Bernat, MD, PhD, from the Department of Clinical Paediatrics, Childhood Obesity and Metabolic Bone Diseases, has become Topic Editor of the prestigious Philadelphia-listed journal Frontiers in Nutrition .

Together with a team including Professor Mona Vintilă (West University of Timișoara Timișoara, Romania) and Professor Petra Rust (Department of Nutritional Sciences, Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria), she developed an idea for a research topic on Intuitive Eating ('Intuitive Eating, Health, and Body: Research, Prevention, and Treatment').

- In this research topic, we would like to focus on recent findings on the relationship between intuitive eating, health, the body (broadly defined) and its mental representation (body image). In particular, we encourage the publication of articles that present novel perspectives on prevention and treatment in areas where little research has been conducted to date. This research topic provides an interdisciplinary space to disseminate cutting-edge scientific research on intuitive eating. 'We invite you to submit articles,' says Kamila Czepczor-Bernat, PhD - a founding member of the Polish Childhood Obesity Society, psychologist, psychodietitian, research and teaching assistant professor and psychological consultant of the Clinical Department of Paediatrics, Childhood Obesity and Metabolic Bone Diseases of the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Katowice of the Silesian Medical University. She is the winner of the Prelude 13 competition (National Science Centre). She actively participates in scientific conferences and national and international projects. Author of scientific articles on psychological aspects of obesity, eating disorders, eating behaviours, body image, e-mental health issues and related concepts and monograph "Childhood obesity from the perspective of children and parents: behavioural, emotional, cognitive aspects" (2021). Member of the editorial board of Eating and Weight Disorders - Studies on Anorexia, Bulimia and Obesity and of the review board of the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
