Congratulations! Dr Gniewko Więckiewicz from the Department of Psychiatry of the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Zabrze of the Silesian Medical University has received a scholarship award from the 'World Psychiatric Association' (WPA).
The scholarship provides the opportunity to participate in the upcoming twenty-third WPA conference in Vienna in September, during which Dr Więckiewicz will give a lecture on PolDrugs, an original project aimed at presenting basic epidemiological data on the use of psychoactive substances in the Republic of Poland, which this year saw the peer-reviewed publication of the second edition of the study.
In addition, there will be activities for Fellows from around the world, such as meetings with other Fellowship winners and WPA President Prof Afzal Javed, or Prof Norman Sartorius, former director of the World Health Organisation's Department of Mental Health.
The fellowship also aims to expand collaboration between mental health researchers from around the world.
