Another edition of the Student National Ophthalmology Conference "Ophthalmology through the windows of the time machine" was held in Rybnik. This year the event was dedicated to ophthalmic diagnostics. The event was organized by the Student Scientific Circle of the Ophthalmology Clinic of the Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Katowice SUM, the Board of the SUM Student Scientific Society and the Prof. K. Gibinski University Clinical Center, SUM.
The inaugural lecture entitled. "The beginnings of ophthalmology in Upper Silesia and my Silesian ophthalmology family." A total of eight papers on historical and futurological topics were presented during the conference. Three works were awarded by the Expert Committee composed of researchers from the Silesian Medical University in Katowice. In addition, one work received the audience award.
