On May 15, 2023. The Council for Scientific Excellence, together with the Silesian Medical University in Katowice, is organizing in Katowice the first national conference entitled. "Promotion proceedings in the light of past experience. Practice of first and second instance bodies - where are the problems?".
The above Conference is a response to the enormous interest from Universities and Institutes from all over Poland in the procedural-legal aspects of promotion proceedings - the awarding of academic degrees of doctor, doctor habilitated and the title of professor.
The conference will address such issues as:
- good practices in the procedural aspects of proceedings for the conferral of academic degrees of doctor and doctor habilitated and the title of professor.
- the desirable model of promotion proceedings with administrative jurisdiction
- the most common causes of appeals in promotion proceedings and grounds for overturning the decisions of degree awarding bodies
Among other speakers at the conference will be Mr. Prof. Dr. Grzegorz Węgrzyn - Chairman of the Council for Scientific Excellence.
The organizers of the event are the Council for Scientific Excellence and the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice. Participation in the Conference is free of charge.
The event will take place on May 15, 2023 at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice. Conference venue: Hall named after Prof. W. Zahorski (Hall A-3) at the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Katowice-Ligota of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice, (18 Medyków Street, Katowice).
