Those working on the final shape of the show opening the European City of Science 2024 celebration include:
Miuosh - rapper and music producer. In 2021, together with the Song and Dance Ensemble "Silesia", he released an album entitled "Contemporary Songs" with songs drawn from folk songs;
Zbigniew Rokita - writer, journalist and reporter affiliated with Jagiellonian University. In 2021 he won the Nike Literary Award for his book "Kajś. A Tale of Upper Silesia";
Dr. Jan Matuszyński - feature and documentary film director affiliated with the Krzysztof Kieslowski Film School of the University of Silesia in Katowice. Among others, he is the creator of the films "Ostatnia rodzina" (2016) about the fate of the Beksinski family or "Żeby nie było śladów" (2021) about the case of the murder by the police of Grzegorz Przemyk;
Mateusz Znaniecki - film director and actor, graduate of the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at the University of Silesia in Katowice, also associated with the Stanisław Wyspiański Silesian Theater in Katowice.
The musical stage will also feature:
Natalia Grosiak - singer, songwriter and composer. She was also the leader of the band Mikromusic, founded in 2002. She took part in many projects, co-founded the band Digit All Love, represented Poland in Melbourne at the Red Bull Music Academy, and collaborated with artists such as Smolik, Miuosh, Sanah, Tymon Tymański and Nikola Kołodziejczyk. With Mikromusic she has toured abroad, including Japan, Romania, Lithuania and Ireland. Together with Mikromusic, she won the 2020 Fryderyk Award in the "Poetic Music" category.
Julia Pietrucha - film and series actress, singer. In April 2016, she self-released her debut album "Parsley," inspired by several months of travel in Asia. The album contained 15 original songs in a ballad pop atmosphere, with elements of folk and soothing ukulele sounds. The club tours the artist embarked on in 2016 and 2017 with her musicians proved to be a huge success. Tickets for most of the concerts sold out in no time. In 2021 Julia Pietrucha took part in two guest projects, which resulted in the release of singles and music videos - we are talking about the song "Celina" released on the joint album by Miuosh and the Song and Dance Ensemble "Silesia" titled "The Songs of the World". "Pieśni Współczesne", as well as the song "Drogi Proste" performed by Julia together with the band "Kwiat Jabłoni". The artist is currently working on a new album, scheduled for release next spring.
Dawid Tyszkowski - singer, composer and songwriter. He is a talented, sensitive artist of the younger generation. He recently announced the release of his debut full-length album titled "My cat has disappeared and is unlikely to return" (released on FONOBO Label) and a tour to promote the album, which will take place in March 2024. Called by many a "revelation" of the alternative scene, Dawid creates mature and emotional lyrics, which he easily transforms into original musical compositions. His inseparable attribute is the guitar, without which he cannot imagine working. In 2022 Dawid Tyszkowski released his debut EP "Nadal nie śpię", which was supervised by Patrick The Pan in terms of production. The material was promoted by a solo tour, which mostly sold out. The artist also has exceptional duets to his credit - "What's Coming Anyway" with Skubas and "Don't Kiss" with Julia Wieniawa, each of which already has approx. 1.5 million views on YouTube. In 2023, he performed at the Wodecki Twist Festival and alongside Miuosh and Zespół Śląsk in the "Contemporary Songs" project.
The proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to support the development of the youth of the Silesian Voivodeship as part of the program implemented by the European City of Science Katowice 2024 in partnership with the National Children's Fund.
