European City of Science Katowice 2024 hosts the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA)

Tomorrow, November 17, 2023, the University of Economics in Katowice will host an Open Day with NAWA aimed at staff, students and doctoral students of all universities, especially universities of the Academic Consortium - Katowice City of Science. On that day, NAWA experts will present programs aimed at scientific and administrative staff, students and doctoral students, as well as programs supporting the internationalization process of Polish universities and scientific units. Information will also be presented on new program formats that NAWA plans to launch in 2024.

During the Open Day, it will also be possible to meet beneficiaries of NAWA scholarship programs and managers of projects implemented at UE Katowice. Staff and students from other universities will also share their experiences. The Open Day with NAWA will be held at the CNTI building of the Katowice University of Economics, 5 Bogucicka Street.

Inauguration of the "Feel good @UEKat" project.
Immediately prior to the start of the Day with NAWA, at 9:15 a.m., a ceremonial inauguration of the project "Feel good @UEKat - support for improving the psycho-physical condition of foreign students of UE Katowice" is scheduled. The inauguration will be held by NAWA Director Dr. Dawid Kostecki at the university's Welcome Point (room 112A, building A, Bogucicka 3 Street).

As part of the project implemented at Welcome Point, a number of meetings and events will be held to foster attitudes of openness and tolerance, as well as to integrate Polish and foreign students (as part of internationalization "at home"). There will also be workshops on the basics of mental health, healthy food (education on healthy eating, showing how to prepare healthy yet tasty meals), mindfulness or effective university. Planned activities include a workshop on creating forests in a jar (integration through the creation of their own ecosystems in jars, which later decorate student apartments, promoting closeness to nature), a "take in a plant" action or "fruit Thursdays" (promoting healthy eating through the production of freshly squeezed juices).One of the elements that is also part of the activities carried out as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024 will be the "I feel good @Katowice" photo contest.The Feel Good @UEKat project is financed by NAWA funds under the "Welcome to Poland (2022)" program, the total value of the project is PLN 233,350.00.
