– I've been observing the Silesian Science Festival since its inception and have seen not only its growing popularity. It is a social phenomenon, connecting generations, which has its own brand not only in the country, but in Europe. It is extremely important that our Universities participate in the creation of the Festival, of course, but also the Marshal's Office and the Upper Silesian and Zagłębie Metropolis – said Marcin Krupa, Mayor of Katowice. During the Festival we show the potential we have at our disposal, and we hope that this will soon result, for example, in more foreign students being educated at our Universities.

Marshal Jakub Chełstowski stressed that he was extremely pleased with the financial support of PLN 15 million that the Sejmik of the Silesian Voivodeship has allocated to support events related to the European City of Science. – The Silesian Science Festival creates a great space for talks, discussions, creation of new solutions. Science is our strength – emphasized Marshal Chelstowski.

The rector of the University of Silesia in Katowice, Prof. Ryszard Koziolek, jokingly stated that it is rare to have so many people gathered in one place who enjoy ... problems. – These are scientists who are happy to solve these problems. And during the three days of the Festival from December 9 to 11, we will present a whole lot of these problems and show the possibilities of solving them – assessed Rector Koziołek. – By creating the Silesian Science Festival we have promoted an amazing tradition – he said.

Rector of the Silesian Medical University Prof. Tomasz Szczepanski emphasized that during the festival days the scientific heart of the Region and Poland beats. – Medicine creates a huge space for development. Almost every day we see new medical achievements, giving hope to our patients.I have no doubt that the activities and events that will take place within the framework of the European City of Science will bring changes that will result in the creation of much-needed new medical infrastructure, as it will serve both more effective treatment and give better quality education.

The universities that make up the Consortium have presented the activities they will present during the 7th WSC. GZM provides free transportation by public transportation. (You need to print out a coupon from the Metropolis website or download it to your cell phone)
