In an effort to bring the 75-year history of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice closer to the public, we have prepared a unique surprise on the occasion of the ongoing anniversary - a newsreel. Watching it, you can not only see what our University used to look like, but also see how much progress has been made in the world of medicine and meet the first graduate of the Silesian Medical University. The chronicle also presents the profiles of outstanding scientists and pioneers not only of Silesian, but especially of Polish medicine: Prof. Jozef Japa, Prof. Franciszek Kokot, Prof. Jozef Gasinski, Prof. Kornel Gibinski and Prof. Zbigniew Religa.

A film surprise was also the material prepared by Aleksandra Fudala, a journalist for TVP3 Katowice. The program "With history in the background" aired an almost 20-minute report presenting the achievements of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice, where tradition is combined with modernity and the past with the present. The material also recalled, among other things, the figure of Prof. Bożena Maria Hager-Małecka, founder of the Silesian pediatric school.
